Welcome to Classic, the third studio album of Manchester-based brass ensemble, A4 Brass Quartet. In complete contrast to the group’s debut album of original compositions - Mists of the Mountains - this album instead brings together a collection of arrangements, mainly done ‘in-house’ by Jonathan Bates & Chris Robertson, where you will hear A4 Brass reimagine some of the greatest works in Western classical music. With the ensemble’s distinctive instrumentation of cornet, tenor horn, baritone and euphonium, these celebrated works gain renewed life and identity in a chamber music setting. This album features many of the quartet’s favourite concert music and is structured in a way that you can listen to it as if it were a concert.
